About Aurenoo
What is Aurenoo?
Aurenoo is an online platform that helps Australian homeowners plan their renovations. You can explore renovation costs, work through your budget, compare contractor quotes and read practical guides—all in one place.
Who is Aurenoo for?
Aurenoo is for homeowners researching a renovation, deciding how much to spend or reviewing quotes before choosing a contractor. Whether you are updating one room or planning a whole-home renovation, you can start with the tools that match your stage.
Is Aurenoo free to use?
Yes. Aurenoo’s main homeowner planning tools and renovation guides are free to use. You can explore costs, plan your budget and compare renovation options without purchasing a service.
Which Aurenoo tool should I use first?
Start with the Cost Calculator when you want to understand what your renovation might cost. Use the Budget Calculator when you already have a spending target. Choose Compare Quotes when you have contractor quotations you want to review.
You can also use all three as your plans develop.
Renovation Cost Calculator
What types of renovations can I estimate?
Aurenoo covers renovation categories including kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home renovations, home extensions, laundries and outdoor projects. Browse Renovation Costs to explore the available categories and choose the one closest to your project.
How do I use the Renovation Cost Calculator?
Choose your renovation category and location, then enter the project details requested by the calculator. These may include dimensions, finish level and other renovation options.
Review your result, then adjust your selections to explore different possibilities.
How are the renovation estimates calculated?
The calculator combines your project details with Aurenoo’s renovation pricing assumptions and location adjustments. Your renovation type, project size, finish level and selected options help shape the estimated cost range.
Changing these inputs lets you see how different choices affect your starting budget.
What information should I have ready?
It helps to know your renovation type, property location, approximate project size and preferred finish level. Think about the main changes you want to make and the features most important to you.
You can begin with an outline and refine your inputs as your plans become clearer.
What do Basic, Standard and Premium finishes mean?
These options represent different levels of materials, fixtures and finishes. Basic generally focuses on simpler, budget-conscious choices, Standard represents a mid-range approach, and Premium reflects higher-end selections.
Read the descriptions shown in the calculator and choose the option closest to your intended renovation.
Why does the calculator ask for my location?
Location helps Aurenoo adjust the estimated range for the area you select. Renovation pricing can differ between locations, so choosing the relevant city or available area makes the result more useful for your planning.
Can I use the calculator without exact measurements?
Yes. Start with reasonable approximate measurements while you are exploring ideas. As your project develops, update them to refine your result.
Keep your measurements consistent with the units shown in the calculator, such as metres or square metres.
Can I compare different renovation options?
Yes. Change your project size, finish level or other available selections and review how the estimate changes.
For example, you can explore a simpler kitchen update against a more extensive renovation, or compare different finish levels before deciding where to spend more.
Why might a contractor’s quote differ from my Aurenoo estimate?
The contractor may be pricing different materials, additional work or specific conditions at your property. Their quote may also include items that were not part of your calculator selections.
Use the difference as a starting point: compare the project scope, inclusions and finish specifications to understand what is driving the price.
Budget Calculator
What does the Budget Calculator help me do?
The Budget Calculator helps you explore your renovation plans around the amount you have available. It supports decisions about spending priorities and how your budget could be distributed across the planned work.
Use it to move from “What would I like to renovate?” towards “What should I prioritise?”
Can I use the Budget Calculator when I already know how much I want to spend?
Yes. That is a useful starting point. Enter your available budget and work through the options shown to explore your priorities.
You can then use the Cost Calculator alongside your budget plan to see how your preferred renovation choices fit together.
Can I plan a renovation involving several rooms?
Yes. You can research the relevant renovation categories and bring those figures together when considering your overall budget.
For a kitchen and bathroom renovation, for example, explore each area first, then review your combined spending priorities and any costs shared across the project.
What should I do when my plans exceed my budget?
Try adjusting the scope, finish level or optional features. Separate your must-have improvements from items that could be simplified or completed later.
Revisit the calculators after each change to understand which adjustments make the biggest difference to your planning range.
Compare Quotes
What does the Compare Quotes tool do?
The Compare Quotes tool helps you organise and review renovation quotations you have received. It makes it easier to look beyond the headline price and identify differences in the information supplied.
Use it to prepare clearer questions for contractors and understand what each quotation covers.
How do I compare my renovation quotes?
Open Compare Quotes and follow the instructions to enter quotation details or upload a document where supported.
Review the information captured from each quote, check the important figures and explore the comparison. Keep your original quotations nearby so you can refer back to them.
Can I use Aurenoo before I have any contractor quotes?
Yes. Start with the Cost Calculator, Budget Calculator and renovation guides while you are researching.
Once you receive quotations, return to Compare Quotes to review how the proposed work and pricing relate to your original plans.
What should I look at besides the total price?
Compare the work included, material specifications, allowances, exclusions and any other details that affect what you will receive.
Two quotations with similar totals may cover different work. Equally, a lower-priced quotation may leave out something included in another contractor’s price.
Can I use my Aurenoo estimate alongside contractor quotes?
Yes. Your estimate can help you revisit the assumptions behind your original budget.
Compare the same renovation type, size and finish level wherever possible. When a quotation differs substantially, look for differences in scope and ask the contractor to explain the main cost drivers.
What should I do if the tool cannot read my quotation correctly?
Check that your document matches the upload instructions and that the information is readable. Review any captured figures and correct them where the tool allows.
Where manual entry is available, you can enter the relevant details yourself. For an ongoing problem, email hello@aurenoo.com with the error message and page details.
PDF Reports
Can I download my results as a PDF?
Where a PDF download option is shown, you can use it to generate a report from that tool. Follow the instructions on the results screen to download your copy.
This gives you a convenient reference when reviewing your plans later.
What does an Aurenoo PDF report contain?
The contents depend on the tool you use. A report may summarise your selected project details, estimated costs, budget information or quote-comparison results.
Check your inputs and the displayed results before generating the PDF so the report reflects the options you intended to select.
Can I update a report after changing my project?
Yes. Return to the relevant tool, update your selections and generate a new report.
An existing downloaded PDF does not change automatically, so save the new version separately or replace your earlier copy to keep your planning documents organised.
Can I use my report when discussing the project with a builder?
Yes. Your report can be a useful conversation starter when explaining your renovation ideas, preferred finish level and budget.
Use it alongside your measurements, photographs, product preferences and questions to give the builder a clearer picture of what you are planning.
Locations and Renovation Guides
Which Australian locations does Aurenoo cover?
Visit Locations to browse the cities and areas currently available on Aurenoo. You can also check the location options within the relevant calculator.
Location pages bring together renovation information for the selected area and help you find a useful starting point for your research.
What should I do if my city or suburb is not listed?
Check whether the location selector offers a broader area relevant to your property. You can also explore the general renovation guides while researching your project.
To suggest a location for future coverage, email hello@aurenoo.com with the city or suburb name and state.
What can I find in Aurenoo’s renovation guides?
Our guides cover renovation planning, room-by-room improvements, budgeting, materials, project preparation and related topics.
Start with your renovation category, then explore more specific subjects as your plans develop. The guides work alongside the calculators to help you understand the decisions behind your numbers.
